Family Resource Centers were developed as a part of the Kentucky Education Reform Act. The centers are designed to enhance a student's ability to succeed in school by removing barriers to learning, connecting families to community programs and resources, and supporting a positive learning climate at school.
The FRC is open to everyone within the Harrison school community.
The Harrison FRC provides many services. We make referrals to community partners to provide assistance with basic needs as well as offer direct support to meet needs. The FRC partners with the Healthy Kids Clinic to provide medical, dental, and mental health services. We partner with our PTA, teachers, staff, families, other schools, and community partners to provide parent workshops, student clubs, and other programs. The FRC partners with many wonderful organizations to provide supplies, services, volunteers and learning opportunities for our students and their families.
We are so thankful for the wonderful community support we receive! If you are interested in supporting our school with donations or volunteers, please contact the FRC. The Family Resource Center is always in need of the following new items for students: underwear, socks, coats, hats, gloves, sweat pants (new or gently used), tennis shoes (new or gently used), backpacks, and school supplies, please check out our Amazon wishlist.
